Game & Flames · Live-fire catering, Bexhill-on-Sea

A website that sells, and a CRM that remembers.

“69 five-star reviews were completely invisible on my old site.”

What we built

What we built

Game & Flames homepage: meat cooking over an open fire at an outdoor event, with a quote button and the 69 five-star reviews badge

Game & Flames cooks wild game over open fire at weddings and corporate events, and wins awards for it: Eat Game Awards winner in 2024 and 2025, and a Champion of Champions nominee in 2026. The old site was slow, and the best evidence the business had was nowhere to be seen. For a caterer, that evidence does the selling: a couple planning a wedding wants proof before they want a menu. So the new site leads with it. All 69 reviews are on show, alongside a hero video, a gallery, its partners and an interactive wedding price calculator that lets a couple see a number before they pick up the phone.

There are 15 pages, built around the work that pays. Corporate catering, the more profitable line, used to be buried. Now it has its own page. Workshops and gift vouchers sell through Stripe checkout on the site itself, so buying one does not need an exchange of emails. And because moving a website is where small businesses quietly lose their place on Google, the move came with 37 permanent redirects: signposts from each old address to its new one, so old links and search results still land on a real page.

The Game & Flames lead tracker: enquiries in a drag-and-drop pipeline from New to Won, shown with demo data

Behind the site sits the part customers never see: a private sales CRM. The brief said leads arrived by email and got lost. Now every enquiry from the site lands in a drag-and-drop pipeline, from new to won, with notes and an activity log on each lead, so whoever picks it up can see what was said and what was promised. Quoting used to take an evening in a spreadsheet. Evenings are for cooking. The quote builder walks through four steps using the owner’s own pricing rules, keeps every version, and prints a branded quote. When a couple changes the guest count, the old quote is still there to compare against.

Calls are where the details live, so the CRM can record them in the browser. AI transcribes the call, works out who said what (diarisation, if you want the word), and drafts the follow-up email from what was actually said. Nobody has to take notes on the call, and nothing said on it depends on someone’s memory. A person reads the draft, fixes anything the AI got wrong, and sends it. The AI writes. It does not send.

The rest is the plumbing that stops leaks. Six layers of silent anti-spam sit in front of the pipeline and filter out the junk without tipping off the sender. The 2,000-name mailing list that had sat unused now has a campaign engine behind it, with delivery and open tracking, and a person decides what goes out and when. Reporting shows seven key numbers and a 90-day chart of organic against paid enquiries, which answers the question the brief could not: which leads did the ads actually bring in? Backups run every night, and the restore is tested. We liked the lead system enough to use it ourselves: the CRM behind our own enquiries is a port of this one.
