Four rented tools became one platform she owns.
“WordPress locked behind an unresponsive developer; Lisa cannot edit anything.”
From the project brief

What we built
What we built

Lisa Lopez is an ICF PCC-certified coach with more than 500 coaching hours. She works with women over 40 through small-group programmes and walking retreats, on the Camino de Santiago and in Sedona. Her old site was WordPress, in the hands of a developer who did not answer, and in her words it looked “1995”. It had no pricing, no booking flow, no email capture above the footer, and a blog that had gone stale. Every change, however small, meant waiting on someone else. For a business about helping people move forward, the website was stuck in the past.

We replaced it with a 13-page site on one codebase that Lisa owns, built with Astro and Hono, two lightweight tools for fast websites, and hosted on Cloudflare. The homepage is a sunrise: the light changes as you scroll. It works as well on a phone as on a laptop, and the quiz is one tap from the first screen. Underneath, the same codebase took over the jobs of four rented tools. And if Lisa ever wants a different developer, she can hire one: the code and the account are hers.

The front door is the Happiness Quiz: eleven questions, scored across four dimensions, with a PDF report at the end. It gives a stranger a reason to start, and gives Lisa something real to start the conversation with. Before, quiz leads leaked out of the plumbing between a rented email tool and the web developer. Now every result lands in Lisa’s own admin, next to her CRM and enquiry inbox, with nothing in between to leak through. Each one arrives with its scores, ready for Lisa to act on.
The brief had a harder line too: graduates “fall off a cliff” after week 8. So the members’ community lives on the same platform, gated by membership tier, with posts, comments, reactions, mentions, search and moderation, and the conversation can carry on after the programme ends, on her platform rather than someone else’s. Members sign in with a magic link, a one-time link sent to their email, so there is no password to forget. Retreats get their own pages, which take deposits and, when places run out, names for the waitlist. Lisa’s Camino retreat sold out at twelve places at $3,000, with a waitlist. That is her achievement, not ours. Our part is the pages, built to take the deposits and keep the list.
Behind it all is an admin cockpit: a Today panel, the CRM and pipelines, the enquiry inbox, quiz results, a media library and an audit log of who changed what. Backups run every night. The homepage scores 0.98 to 0.99 for performance in Lighthouse, Google’s speed test, and the Camino page scores 0.95. All 94 end-to-end user flows pass - tests that click through the site the way a visitor would - as do 24 of 24 unit tests, which check the individual pieces, and accessibility checks come back clean across 16 pages. It runs in Lisa’s own Cloudflare account, and hosting costs $0 a month.
