AI, web and apps for Hastings businesses
Hastings runs on boats hauled up the Stade, galleries, Old Town pubs and engineering firms visitors never see. Nearly every business here is small. That’s who we build for.
Hastings
Hastings and St Leonards have three places to shop. The Old Town, where George Street is pedestrianised and the High Street is lined with antiques and homeware. The town centre. And Central St Leonards, where Norman Road and Kings Road run to boutiques, vintage and antiques. Down on the Stade, the fishing boats still launch off the beach, beside the tall black net huts and the tiled front of Hastings Contemporary.
Behind the seafront is a Hastings most visitors miss: engineering and manufacturing firms, with a particular strength in high-vacuum technology. Their problems are less photogenic than a gallery’s. Tender packs. Datasheets. Enquiries that sit in an inbox until somebody has a spare hour.
The owners we build for here run galleries that sell online, guest houses in the Old Town, shops on Norman Road and engineering firms on the estates. Few of them employ anyone whose whole job is marketing or IT, so both jobs land on the owner after hours. We build the systems that take those jobs back, and the owner still signs off what goes out.
The pier was gutted by fire in 2010, rebuilt, and named the UK’s best new building with the 2017 Stirling Prize. A website is a smaller job than a pier, and it shouldn’t need a six-month programme either. We build in weeks, then teach your team to run what we built.

03We need content. Constantly.Like the tide. Twice a day, every day.
Galleries, Old Town pubs and St Leonards boutiques need something new to post every week; AI drafts it in your voice, and a person approves every post before it goes out.

05Our website looks tired.A fresh coat before the season starts.
On streets where the shop windows are this well dressed, a website from 2015 looks like a closed sign.

02Our marketing takes forever.Stop taking the scenic route.
For the engineering firms it is tender packs and datasheets; AI drafts them from documents you already have, and an engineer checks every line before anything is sent.

Our nearest flagship is in Bexhill-on-Sea, about ten minutes west on the train. Game and Flames, a live-fire caterer, now runs its website and its sales CRM as one system we built, with a quote builder that uses the owner’s own pricing rules. The 69 five-star reviews the old site hid are now on show, 37 redirects send the old site’s links to the right new pages, and the hosting runs on Cloudflare’s free tier.

How we work
How we work with people in Hastings
Hastings is about an hour from Seaford by road. We will come to the gallery, the pub or the unit on the industrial estate, you can come to us, or we can do it all on a video call.
The first step is the Free Business Review: 20 to 30 minutes where you tell us what’s slow and we ask the awkward questions. The summary lands in your inbox within one working day: three fixes in plain English, numbered in the order we recommend, each with a rough value attached. No slides, no deck.
If you want the first fix built, we quote a fixed price. While we build, you’ll read where it’s up to every week and see it working every couple of weeks. The repository and the accounts are in your name from the start.
When it’s live, we train whoever will run it, in your building, until they don’t need us. We book visits around your quiet hours, not ours, whether that’s a Monday morning in the Old Town or a Friday afternoon on the estate.

Questions people ask
Questions people ask
Do you work with businesses in St Leonards as well as Hastings?
Yes. Norman Road, Kings Road, Warrior Square, the Old Town and the industrial estates are all the same trip for us. We visit when being in the room helps and do the rest on video calls, so nobody loses half a day to the A259. The review works perfectly well on a screen, and so does most of a build.
We’re a small Old Town business. Can we afford this?
Prices are fixed per project and quoted after the review call, never by the hour. On the call we name one thing we could ship in two weeks and roughly what it’s worth, and the written summary puts a rough value on each fix, so you can weigh the cost against what it saves before you commit. If something isn’t worth doing, we’ll say so.
Will we own the website, or rent it from you?
You own it. The code lives in your repository, the hosting sits in your own Cloudflare account, and running a site that way costs close to nothing. If you’d rather not touch it, we can run it for you, but you’re free to take it elsewhere at any point. You keep the data too: every enquiry, quote and customer record stays in your account.

Tell us what’s slow. We’ll tell you what to fix first.
A call of 20 to 30 minutes. We find the gaps, the leaks and the quick wins, and what each one is worth to you. Fixed price after that, no hourly rates. No 200-page deck.
Or tell us what you want to achieve and Dan will come back to you within one working day. Email dan@danielnicholls.com.
