AI consultant in Sussex
Sussex is a county of owner-run businesses: caterers, gyms, trades, hotels, studios. We’re the AI agency in Seaford that finds what’s costing them money and builds the fix.
Sussex
If you’re looking for an AI consultant in Sussex, you probably don’t want more advice. You want the enquiries answered, the quotes sent, the website fixed and a team that uses AI without anyone getting nervous. That’s a build, not a report. So we build it, and then we teach you to run it.
Quantum AI Consulting is a creative and technology agency in Seaford, East Sussex. We design and build websites, platforms and apps, we build the AI agents and automations that take on the repetitive work, and we train teams so the know-how stays in your building. Our founder, Dan Nicholls, rose over six years at Toshiba to Head of Online Marketing for Northern Europe, then ran businesses of his own, and has spent the last four years building with AI. We still write the code ourselves.
We work with owner-run businesses of roughly 3 to 50 people: trades, hospitality, health and fitness, professional services, e-commerce and agencies. The owner is usually the buyer, short of time and wary of anything sold as AI. Fair enough. Most of what’s sold as AI deserves it.
What an AI consultant actually does for a Sussex business
Find the work a machine should be doing, then build the machine. For one business that’s an agent that answers every enquiry the same day and chases it until it books. For another it’s a quote builder that prices jobs the way the owner does, a content engine the team steers, or a website that finally earns its keep.
Underneath, that means agents that do jobs (reply, quote, chase, draft, log, reconcile), automations that run the boring bits on rails, and MCP servers, which wire your existing tools into the AI so it can read the diary or update the CRM. None of that jargon is your problem. What it saves is.
Every one of those systems keeps a person on the last mile. AI drafts; someone in your business approves it before a customer sees it, and that only changes if you ask for it in writing.
The bigger idea is the business brain: one central memory of how your business works, wired into your CRM, website, inbox, diary, social accounts and finance system, which your staff and your agents both read from and write to. Without one, AI stays a chat window. With one, agents can take on whole workflows while a person still signs them off.
Why we build instead of writing roadmaps
The traditional AI consultancy sells a roadmap. Six months later you own a 200-page deck and nothing that answers the phone. We don’t sell roadmaps at all.
Strategy still happens; it comes inside the build. We pick the problem costing you most, ship a working fix for it in weeks, measure what it saves, then decide what’s next with real numbers on the table. Something that works this month is worth more than a plan for next year.
That’s also why every case study we publish carries numbers. Game and Flames got 15 new pages, 37 redirects from its old site and six layers of silent anti-spam. Live Happy’s homepage scores 0.98 for performance on Google’s Lighthouse test, and one platform it owns replaced four rented tools. At Barn Gym, AI writes a full week of meals in seconds.
AI consultant, or AI agency?
People search for an AI consultant. We call ourselves an AI agency in Sussex, and the difference is who does the work: a consultant tells you what to build, an agency builds it. With us the advice comes free in the review and the money goes on the build.
Corporate teams get a consulting side as well: implementation strategy, infrastructure and adoption. Even then it’s sold as part of an engagement, never as a standalone roadmap.
Why it helps that we’re in East Sussex
AI work happens on screens, so in theory it makes no difference where your consultancy sits. In practice the first meeting matters most, and an AI consultancy in East Sussex can spend an hour in your kitchen, workshop or back office. That shows us where the time goes faster than a month of emails.
Knowing the county helps too. The coast runs on seasons: hotels, cafés, language schools and event venues from Brighton to Eastbourne are flat out in summer and chasing bookings in February. Brighton has a dense cluster of digital and creative firms. Lewes is the county town, home to County Hall and the Crown Court. Inland, the Weald is farms, vineyards, wedding barns and village businesses, and since 2022 Sussex wine has had its own protected designation of origin.
We use the same roads as you, too. Bexhill is along the A259 from us, Burwash is up through the Weald, and Brighton is half an hour along the coast when the South Coast Road behaves.
How to start: the Free Business Review
Every project starts with a free call of 20 to 30 minutes. You tell us what’s slow. Then we ask three things: where your enquiries come from and what a new one’s first hour looks like, which weekly chores software could take off your team’s hands, and what happened the last time you tried AI.
Within one working day, a plain-English email follows with the three fixes we’d make, ranked, and a rough value on each. No deck. If one is worth building, it gets a fixed price, scope and date. If none is, we say so, and the email is yours to keep.
The first build is deliberately small: the quick win, shipped in weeks, so you can judge us on something real before committing to anything bigger. The bigger system, and in time the business brain, comes after, and only if the numbers say so.
To request the review we ask for five things: your name, your business, an email address, a UK phone number and what you want to achieve. Or book a call straight into the diary.
What Sussex businesses bring us
What Sussex businesses bring us
Beachy Head lighthouse
01We’re not getting enough leads.Be the light they steer by.
A wedding enquiry at 10pm, a boiler breakdown on a Sunday, a conference booking from London: across Sussex the work tends to go to whoever answers first.
Cuckmere Haven
02Our marketing takes forever.Stop taking the scenic route.
On a seasonal coast the summer menu, the event brochure and the Christmas offer all need doing in the same fortnight, usually by the person who should be running the business.
Seaford beach
03We need content. Constantly.Like the tide. Twice a day, every day.
Visitors plan their day trips to the coast on their phones, so a seaside business has to keep turning up in their feeds long after the summer crowds go home.
Newhaven harbour
04We need an app. Yesterday. We ship.
Gyms, clubs, venues and schools across the county want their regulars booking, logging and paying from a phone, and off-the-shelf tools rarely fit the way they work.
Seaford seafront
05Our website looks tired.A fresh coat before the season starts.
Plenty of Sussex businesses are better than their websites suggest, and a new customer only ever sees the website.
a lifeboat crew
06Our team can’t use AI.Train the crew, not just the boat.
Small Sussex teams don’t have a spare month to learn AI by trial and error; they need the right afternoon of training, in their own building, on their own work.

Two of our three flagship builds are in East Sussex. Game and Flames, the award-winning live-fire caterer, is in Bexhill-on-Sea, about twenty miles east of Seaford along the coast, and the 69 five-star reviews its old site kept hidden are now on show. Barn Gym is a drive of under an hour up into the High Weald, in Burwash, where we built the platform that runs the whole gym. The third, Live Happy, is a coaching business in Flagstaff, Arizona, which tells you the work travels fine. The first meeting is still better in person.

From lost emails to one sales pipeline.
A 15-page website and a private sales CRM in one codebase. Enquiries land in a pipeline, quotes run on the owner’s pricing rules, and AI drafts the follow-up after a call for a person to send.

How we work
How we work with people in Sussex
We meet people where the work happens: at your premises anywhere from Hove to Hastings and up into the Weald, in Seaford, or on a video call if that suits you better.
Every project then follows the same four steps. A free review call. A fixed-price proposal with the value case beside the price. A build measured in weeks: a written note on progress weekly, a live demo every second week. Then a handover, or we run it for you.
You own what we build: the code, the accounts and the data. It runs on Cloudflare, where hosting costs next to nothing, and anything an AI drafts for a customer waits for a person in your business to sign it off.

Questions people ask
Questions people ask
How much does an AI consultant cost in Sussex?
We don’t publish prices, because the honest answer depends on the problem. After the free review we quote a fixed price for the project, with the value case beside it: the hours it should save, the leads it should answer or the revenue it should win back. There are no hourly rates. If the numbers don’t stack up, we’ll tell you before you spend a penny.
Do you cover the whole of Sussex?
Yes. We’re based in Seaford, and Brighton, Lewes and Eastbourne are all within about half an hour of us, so we can meet you in person anywhere in East Sussex. West Sussex and London are a train ride away: we’ll travel for a workshop or a kick-off and do the rest remotely. Further afield, we work remotely from the start.
Isn’t this just ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a tool. We build the system around it: connected to your data and your other tools, with guardrails on what it can see and do, with a person signing off anything that goes to a customer, and with a team that knows how to use it. Anyone can buy a saw.
