AI, web and apps for Lewes businesses

Lewes is the county town: County Hall, the Crown Court, a pedestrianised Cliffe High Street and lots of bookshops. We help its firms and independents get evenings back.

Lewes

Lewes packs a lot into a short walk. As the county town of East Sussex it has County Hall, the Crown Court and the head office of Sussex Police, plus the solicitors, accountants and estate agents you’d expect on a county-town High Street. Over the bridge, Cliffe High Street is pedestrianised, with independent shops, cafés and antiques.

It’s a town with opinions. Thomas Paine lived here, the bonfire societies take over the streets every Bonfire Night, and the whole town sits inside the South Downs National Park, with Glyndebourne about four miles away bringing opera audiences through each summer.

The owners we meet in Lewes tend to run professional practices or specialist shops with small teams and long memories, where the know-how lives in two or three heads and a filing cabinet. AI is good at organising exactly that, provided someone shows the team how to use it with the right rules in place.

For a practice, the long-term prize is the business brain: one memory of how the firm works, from templates and precedents to who handles what, that staff and AI both draw on, while a person still approves whatever leaves the building.

What Lewes businesses bring us

What Lewes businesses bring us

a lifeboat crew at dusk a lifeboat crew 06Our team can’t use AI.Train the crew, not just the boat.

For a Lewes practice handling client files, the question isn’t whether staff will use AI but whether they’ll use it with rules, and training is where the rules get set.

Cuckmere Haven at dusk Cuckmere Haven 02Our marketing takes forever.Stop taking the scenic route.

Proposals, brochures and event programmes are the paperwork of a county town; written from scratch, each one costs an evening, while AI can draft it on brand in hours for a person to finish.

On Cliffe High Street the shopfront does the selling; online, an old website does the opposite, and it’s open all night.

Barn Gym, our nearest flagship to Lewes, is in Burwash: about forty minutes’ drive north-east through Heathfield and along the A265. The parts a Lewes practice would recognise are behind the scenes: a health form and coach approval before anyone books, admin dashboards, bulk actions, CSV export and audit logs, so the owner can see who did what and when. Different trade, same problem solved: diaries, plans and consultations that used to live outside any system.

How we work

How we work with people in Lewes

Lewes is about twenty minutes from Seaford by car or on the branch-line train, so we come to you: your office, your shop or the back room where the filing actually happens. Training works best in your building, on your own documents, with the team in the room.

The free review comes first: a short call, then a plain-English email within one working day naming three fixes in the order we’d tackle them, each with a rough figure. Training comes as workshops of half a day or a full day, one-to-one mentoring for the owner, or ongoing coaching, each priced up front. A first workshop can cover the AI tools your team already pays for, your rules for client data and the handful of tasks where AI saves real time.

Questions people ask

Questions people ask

Can you train our whole team, or just the partners?

Both. Workshops are built for the whole team and run in your building on your own work, so people leave with prompts and habits they’ll use the next morning. Owners and partners can add one-to-one mentoring, because deciding what AI should and shouldn’t touch is a leadership call. We train owners and teams, not IT departments.

We handle confidential client files. Is AI safe for a firm like ours?

It can be, with rules. We set the guardrails with you: what AI may see, what it may draft and who checks its work. Nothing goes to a client without a person signing it off, and you keep ownership of the accounts and the data. We’ll go through the specifics of your practice on the review call before anything is switched on.

Can we meet in Lewes?

Yes, at your premises, any working day except Bonfire Night, when the shops board up and the roads close. We’re close enough to be with you in under half an hour, so a morning workshop on School Hill or the Cliffe is easy to arrange. Lewes is on our train line too, so the car is optional.

A call of 20 to 30 minutes. We find the gaps, the leaks and the quick wins, and what each one is worth to you. Fixed price after that, no hourly rates. No 200-page deck.
